APM Terminals Mobile in Alabama is expanding its rail infrastructure capabilities, planning additional tracks, rail yard storage space, and improved access from the berth to the railyard. The planned $60-million rail expansion doubles cargo capacity.
DHL relocated its Carson, California, pickup and delivery operation to a service center in Redondo Beach that is 60% larger than its previous facility. The larger service center can process up to 3,775 pieces per hour, handling both U.S. domestic and time-definite international shipments.
Gebrüder Weiss continued its U.S. expansion with a new warehouse in Elgin, Illinois. The warehouse is part of a larger expansion in the Illinois area and brings an additional 106,000 square feet of space to the company’s Illinois footprint.

MSC added two shipping services connecting Saudi Arabia to East Africa. Operating on four vessels with a 2,500-TEU capacity each, the weekly East Africa – Red Sea service links Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah Port to Djibouti, Mombasa, and Dar Es Salaam with a transit time of two days, 9 days, and 12 days respectively. MSC runs its bi-monthly Red Sea service also from the ports of Jeddah and King Abdullah to Port Sudan with a one-day transit time.
