Products

•  Raymond introduced a 48-volt drop-in lithium-ion battery (48V LIB) to power new and existing lift trucks. Designed as a direct, plug-and-play replacement for conventional lead acid batteries, the new 48V LIB fits lift trucks with battery compartments of 13 inches and larger and requires no additional modifications.

•  The 40-by-48-inch P3 reusable pallet from ORBIS completed 280 cycles through the FasTrack life-cycle analysis, performed by the Virginia Tech Center for Packaging and Unit Load Design, giving the P3 more than 25 times the lifespan of a standard 40-by-48-inch whitewood stringer pallet. The P3 pallet is a lightweight, stackable hygienic packaging solution that can integrate with manual and automatic materials handling equipment.

•  Endura-Veyor’s parcel infeed solutions help companies manage the flow of inbound goods to optimize a range of downstream processes. Its systems initiate singulation and control product flow for reverse logistics, last-mile delivery, sortation, and warehousing applications.

•  The new vertical aerial safety light from APS Resource provides an extra layer of visual communication about vehicle restraint status for dock operations. Sold in pairs, each 18-inch safety light is designed for universal mounting to the upper end of the track on either side of the dock door.

Services

•  Freight forwarder Dimerco Express now offers in-house devanning services at its San Francisco operation to speed up the LCL delivery process by 3 to 5 days. The onsite capability means Dimerco can shorten the pick-up time by targeting the earliest available appointment and devanning the load on the same day.

•  3PL BroadRange Logistics opened a new warehouse in Orlando, Florida, to provide storage and distribution services. The more-than-280,000-square-foot facility in Crossroads 429 Industrial Park is located 30 minutes from downtown Orlando and Orlando International Airport.

•  PFS, an ecommerce order fulfillment provider, leased a new fulfillment center in Fareham, England. Located 10 miles from its Southampton fulfillment center, the 70,000-square-foot facility in Fareham is located near Southampton Airport and both the ports of Southampton and Portsmouth.

•  PECO Pallet unveiled Vision X, an automated inspection system for pallets, deploying the solution at its maintenance depots. Vision X can conduct a full pallet inspection and convey it to its designated location within 6 seconds. After pallets are returned, inspected, and refurbished, they are reissued to customers.

•  Redwood Logistics expanded operations in Monterrey, Mexico, to service more cross-border freight and support shipper manufacturing growth south of the border.

•  Aeronet Worldwide moved its Southeast operations hub into a new 200,493-square-foot facility in Atlanta. The facility is located within 10 miles of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and provides storage, transloading, ecommerce fulfillment, and distribution services.

•  The Yale narrow-aisle reach truck is designed to maximize productivity in warehouses with high-density configurations. The truck offers 3,000-to-4,500-pound load capacities and single or double-deep reach capabilities to take advantage of positions in storage racking two pallets deep.

Technology

•  The CapSen PiC software solution from CapSen Robotics turns any industrial robot arm into a robot work cell for pick-and-place applications. CapSen PiC software combines 3D vision, motion planning, and control algorithms to give robots the ability to locate, pick, and manipulate objects from bins and shelves.

•  TradeBeyond launched a chain of custody functionality in its platform. The enhancement enables retailers to trace the material origins of their products throughout the supply chain and creates the digital paper trail they need to verify ESG claims and meet the requirements of global due diligence laws, such as the U.S. Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act.

•  Shippers can calculate the environmental advantages of using the CN rail line for shipments with a new self-service, sustainability tool. The My Carbon Emissions tool, available on the CN One eBusiness platform, provides a detailed report of shippers’ estimated GHG emissions based on loaded shipments moved on CN.

•  The Descartes eBookings for Ocean Shipment Management solution is now an SAP Endorsed App, available for online purchase on SAP Store. SAP Endorsed Apps are certified by SAP with added security, testing, and benchmarks. Expanding customers’ ocean shipment management capabilities, the solution is part of the Descartes Global Logistics Network and is integrated with the SAP Logistics Business Network.

•  Anytrek, a smart trailer solutions provider, is integrating data from its GPS tracking devices into FourKites’ real-time transportation visibility platform. Shippers can now view the location of their fleet, define geofencing perimeters around specific locations, create multiple landmarks, view asset utilization reports, and manage and share trailer maintenance requirements.

•  Outrider introduced trailer inventory tracking technology to increase distribution yard efficiency. Part of the Outrider system for autonomous yard operations, the technology provides real-time tracking of trailers and containers in yards, using computer vision and deep learning to track locations.

•  Locus, a last-mile logistics technology company, now offers ShipFlex, a third-party delivery platform that lets businesses outsource their deliveries to a range of delivery carriers. ShipFlex enables companies to offer same-day and next-day delivery capabilities in new geographies. The platform also gives them access to Locus’ global carrier partner networks, which include FedEx, RPS Logistics, Loomis Express, Shadowfax, and SPL.

•  Peak Technologies introduced Peak Analytics, a supply chain AI and image recognition solution for high-volume logistics. Peak Analytics, formerly known as Siena Analytics, is a no-code, plug-and-play system that enables supply chain visibility by utilizing sensors in warehouses.

•  Resilinc unveiled a spend analytics solution on its supply chain platform. The spend-management tool associates an organization’s spend to a specific supplier, category, or part. The data, which is available alongside other supplier risk insights within the Resilinc platform, provides companies visibility into both direct and indirect supplier spend.

•  TouchPath released TouchCount, an inventory cycle counting technology that live-counts production, warehouse, and logistics inventory without disrupting warehouse product flows.

•  The BrillDog transportation management system (TMS) is now available for implementation. The initial version FreeDog is available to shippers at no cost. Designed for small-to-medium-sized businesses, the BrillDog TMS is a cloud-based platform that automates inbound and outbound freight across LTL modes.

Transportation

•  A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) launched a Europe-China airfreight service with three weekly flights, introducing the first of three newly converted Boeing 767-300 freighters. All Europe-China flights are operated by Maersk’s cargo airline and stop at Billund, Denmark, and Hangzhou, China.

•  Sterling Transportation now offers full truckload and less-than-truckload services to Chicago and the surrounding areas of Indianapolis and Columbus out of Dallas and Houston.

•  MSC added Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to its Upper Gulf express service. Launched at the end of May 2023, the new route connects the King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam to the Arabian Gulf ports of Khalifa, Sharjah, and Umm Qasr aboard a 4,000-TEU vessel.

•  Aviation services group Air Partner teamed up with Worldwide GSA, a sister company of the Air Logistics Group, to expand its cargo offering in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The partnership lets Air Partner extend cargo services in APAC countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand.

•  Qatar Airways Cargo introduced a weekly direct freighter service from Bogotá, capital of Colombia, to Dallas Fort Worth, Texas. The Boeing 777 freighter departs from Bogotá on Mondays and flies to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Offering around 110 tons of cargo capacity, the freighter transports perishables such as flowers, fruits, vegetables, and coffee, as well as live animals, machinery, and other general cargo.

•  Samskip will deploy zero-emission short-sea container vessels on its west European routes. The provider signed a shipbuilding contract with shipyard Cochin Shipyard Ltd. for two hydrogen fuel powered vessels. Each vessel is expected to achieve around 25,000 tons of CO2 reduction per year; additionally they will use green shore power at the port of call.
